Anastazia Louise, Founder and Artistic Director of Bad Unkl Sista, designs and fabricates all company costumes. Anastazia believes—and practices—wearable art. Self-taught, she considers herself a fabric sculptor rather than a seamstress or couture designer. Her designs are an eclectic combination of original pattern design and creation, and incorporate experimentation and re-purposing of existing clothing.
Anastazia’s work is particularly suited to and sought after by performers. She has an adept approach to designing pieces that can be worn in many different configurations—backwards, forwards, inside-out, upside-down and on the head.
Bad Unkl Sista designs are created for both ensemble performance and private commissions.
