Daniel Yasmin

Daniel Yasmin
Daniel Yasmin is a musician, sculptor and instructor that uses resonance to explore the influence that space and time can have on matter. His work fuses the detail of machine technology with the fervor of musical experimentation to create unique instruments and sound sculptures.

His work as a drummer and performer led Daniel into foundry and machine shop practice as a way to actualize the instruments that he envisioned. Always looking for interesting sounds, his work spans the intense focus of manual machining metal to close tolerances and pouring molten metal in molds to the tight rhythmic cycles of drumming and dense subtleties of theatre.

Daniel continues to cultivate his aesthetic through collaboration and performance as an instrumentalist and as a teacher at The Crucible in Oakland, California.
